Ukrainian forces have opportunity to de-occupy territories within 1991 borders by late spring - early summer
Roman Svitan, military expert and reserve colonel of Ukraine's Armed Forces, believes the Ukrainian army should reach the Azov coast, enter Crimea and start de-occupying Donbas by spring at the latest
He said this on Espreso TV.
“More than three dozen Russian defense plants have already been launched to produce new equipment, as well as to restore the Soviet equipment that was in storage. In addition, the production of projectiles has been brought to the maximum level in the Russian Federation. Now they produce about 5,000 projectiles per day, and use about 15,000-20,000. I think that in the next 1.5-2 months, the Russians will reach zero in terms of warehouse balances, and will continue to produce 5,000 shells per day,” the military expert said.
Roman Svitan noted that the Russians will be able to fully launch the defense industry system no earlier than summer, about at the end of spring - beginning of summer; for this period, the troops recruited from those mobilized in the Russian Federation will be provided with the equipment of the last century.
“It is known that the mobilization system in Russia is a bottleneck, no more than 150,000-200,000 in 2-3 months, that is, until the summer they can train and arm such a number of people. Accordingly, until the end of spring - beginning of summer, we also have an opportunity to carry out the de-occupation of our country up to the borders of 1991. If we don't do this before summer, we will have to deal with a trained Russian army by the end of this year, and possibly next. That is, we have very little time to complete the maximum tasks. These 2-3 months until the spring, until the ready Russian units arrive, we need to go to the Azov coast, start entering the Crimea and de-occupying Donbas - it's better to finish everything by the end of the spring at the latest,” Svitan explained.
