Russia plans to occupy entire Donetsk region, and then take over Zaporizhzhia region
Russian occupying forces will try to seize the entire territory of Donetsk region, and after that they will take over Zaporizhzhia region
Such a forecast was announced at a briefing on January 12 by Deputy Chief of the Main Operational Department of Ukrainian Armed Forces General Staff, Brigadier General Oleksiy Hromov.
"It is predicted that in the near future Russian enemy will try to reach administrative borders of Donetsk region, and in the future it may intensify its actions to capture the left-bank part of Zaporizhzhia region," he said.
Also, Ukrainian Armed Forces General Staff assumes the probability of new missile attacks on critical infrastructure objects throughout the territory of Ukraine.
Hromov added that in order to implement its plans to take over Ukraine, Russia announced large-scale measures to reform the Armed Forces - in particular, increasing the total number to one and a half million people and forming at least 20 new divisions. Ukrainian Armed Forces General Staff believes that these actions of the Russian Federation intend to continue occupation of Ukrainian territories.
"The Russian enemy's main goal remains the seizure of the entire territory of our country and destruction of Ukraine's statehood," Hromov concluded.
