Ukrainian Defense Forces eliminate almost 1,000 Russian troops in one day – General Staff (Kyiv)

During the past 24 hours, 82 combat engagements occurred at the frontlines. Ukraine's Defense Forces repelled multiple enemy attacks in key areas and eliminated 990 occupiers

This is stated in the morning report of the Ukrainian General Staff.

Russia’s total combat losses from 24.02.22 to 05.11.23 were approximately:

  • personnel – about 305,090 (+990)
  • tanks ‒ 5284 (+8)
  • armored personnel vehicles ‒ 9953 (+14)
  • artillery systems – 7375 (+12)
  • MLRS – 867 (+6)
  • anti-aircraft warfare systems ‒ 570 (+2)

  • UAV of the operational-tactical level – 5534 (+0)
  • cruise missiles ‒ 1,554 (+3)
  • warships/boats ‒ 20 (+0)

  • special equipment ‒ 1047 (+9)

Khromove, Klishchiivka, Andriivka: Russians are trying to regain lost position in the Bakhmut direction

This is stated in the General Staff report. 

In the area of the northern Ukrainian border with Belarus, the operational situation has not changed. 

In the northeastern border area, Russian forces maintain a grouping of troops covering the state border, conducting active sabotage activities in the border areas to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to threatened areas, and increasing the density of minefields along the state border in the Belgorod region.

In the Kupyansk direction, Russian troops conducted unsuccessful assault operations near Synkivka, Ivanivka, Kharkiv region. The Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled 10 attacks there.

In the Lyman direction, Russian troops conducted unsuccessful assault operations near Bilohorivka and Spirne, Donetsk region. The Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled 4 attacks there.

In the Bakhmut direction, Russian troops also tried to regain lost ground near Khromove, Klishchiivka and Andriivka, where the Ukrainian military repelled 10 attacks. The enemy also tried to attack Bohdanivka, unsuccessfully. The Ukrainian Defense Forces continued their assault operations south of Bakhmut, Donetsk region, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on Russian troops, and consolidating their positions.

In the Avdiivka direction, Russian troops try to surround Avdiivka, using aviation. Ukrainian soldiers are steadfastly holding the defense, inflicting numerous losses on Russian forces. Russia’s offensive actions near Avdiivka and 3 more settlements in the Donetsk region were unsuccessful; the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled over 20 attacks.

In the Marinka direction, Russian troops carried out unsuccessful attacks near Marinka and Novomykhailivka, Donetsk region. Ukrainian soldiers repelled over 20 attacks.

In the Shakhtarsk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled the assault near Staromayorske, Donetsk region.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the enemy did not launch any assaults. 

In the Kherson direction, the Ukrainian Defence Forces conduct counter-battery operations, destroy Russian depots, and successfully strike at the enemy's rear.

The Ukrainian Defence Forces are conducting an offensive operation in the Melitopol direction, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on the occupying forces, consolidating their positions, and exhausting Russian troops.

The enemy launched 24 airstrikes and fired 64 MLRS attacks on our troops and communities. Unfortunately, civilians were killed and injured due to these attacks, and homes and other civilian buildings were destroyed.

The airstrikes affected the Serebrianka Forestry in the Luhansk region, Bila Hora, Katerynivka, Berdychi, Marinka, Novomykhailivka, and Staromayorske in the Donetsk region, among others.

Over 100 towns and villages in the Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions were shelled by artillery.

During the past day, the Defense Forces' aircraft carried out three strikes on areas where enemy forces were concentrated and one strike on the enemy's anti-aircraft missile system.

Missile units successfully targeted an enemy artillery position.

  • On Saturday, November 4, the Russian occupying army fired missiles at the Poltava region, resulting in the tragic death of a woman and injuries, including two children.
