Ukrainian Armed Forces down Russian Su-25, 13 drones and hit almost 20 invaders' concentration areas

This was reported by the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in a morning briefing on March 16.

It is noted that the Russian Federation does not abandon its intentions to occupy Ukraine and continues to conduct offensive actions, despite the losses.

Russian forces are focusing their main efforts on the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, Marinka and Vuhledar directions. Over the past day, the enemy carried out more than 75 attacks in these areas.

On March 15, the aviation of the Ukraine’s Defense Forces carried out 16 strikes on the areas of the occupiers' personnel concentration and military equipment. 

Ukrainian troops shot down an enemy Su-25 aircraft and 13 unmanned aerial vehicles of various types.

Missile and artillery units hit a command post, 3 areas of Russian personnel and military equipment concentration, as well as 2 radar stations, an electronic warfare station, and an anti-aircraft missile system at a firing position.

Russia launched 3 missile strikes and 29 air strikes against Ukraine past day.

Despite receiving strong resistance from the Defense Forces, the Russian Federation continues to use terror tactics against the civilian population of Ukraine, and does not stop striking and shelling populated areas.

Over the past day, the enemy launched 3 missile attacks, including on a civilian infrastructure facility in Kharkiv. The enemy also conducted 29 air strikes and fired 79 times from multiple launch rocket systems.

The probability of further enemy attacks throughout Ukraine remains high.

The situation in different directions

In the Northern and Northeastern Ukrainian borders, the operational situation has not changed significantly, and no offensive groups have been detected. 

The training of Russian occupation troops continues at the Belarusian landfills. The enemy maintains a military presence in the border areas. 

During the day, the enemy fired on the areas of 3 settlements in Chernihiv region; 8 in Sumy region and 9 in Kharkiv region.

At the Kupyansk and Lyman directions, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensives in the vicinity of 3 settlements. 

They fired artillery shells near 4 settlements in Kharkiv region; 4 in Luhansk region, and 4 in Donetsk region.

In the Bakhmut direction, the enemy keeps trying to storm the city of Bakhmut. Ukrainian troops repelled numerous enemy attacks near Orikhovo-Vasylivka and Bohdanivka. 

Settlements near the contact line came under enemy fire, including 12 settlements in Donetsk region.

In the Avdiivka, Marinka and Vuhledar direction, the enemy carried out unsuccessful offensives in the vicinity of 9 localities. 

In the above-mentioned frontline area, the highest number of attacks was registered in the vicinity of Marinka - 12, all were repelled by Ukrainian troops. 

In particular, 11 localities in the Donetsk region came under enemy fire.

The enemy is conducting defensive actions in the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions. 

Areas near the contact line came under fire, in particular, 9 settlements in Zaporizhzhia region; 1 in Dnipropetrovs'k region; 4 in Kherson region and the city of Kherson itself.
