Russian forces intensify security measures in Kherson region, AFU shoot down Russian Su-25 – General Staff

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff reported this in the regular update. 

It is noted that in some settlements of the temporarily occupied Kherson region, enemy troops are tightening security measures. This is due to the attack on the Russian forces' military positions on March 12-13 and their significant losses.

“Occupying Russian forces usually move in civilian cars taken from local residents. On March 14, a column of invaders moved towards Crimea with looted property,” the military added.

In another village in Kherson region, according to the General Staff, Russia is conducting counter-sabotage activities: “Justifying their actions, they accuse the villagers of killing a Russian soldier whose body was found.”

“The Russian Federation does not abandon its intentions to occupy Ukraine and continues offensive actions, regardless of losses... The likelihood of further attacks across Ukraine remains high,” the General Staff emphasized.

The report says that the Russian troops are focusing their main efforts in the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, Mariinka, and Shakhtarsk directions.

“Due to its inability to overcome the Ukrainian Defense Forces, the Russian Federation is using terror tactics. It is shelling populated areas, thereby grossly violating the norms of international humanitarian law,” the military emphasized.

Over the past day, Russia launched 3 missile strikes, 26 airstrikes, as well as over 23 attacks with multiple launch rocket systems.

Over the past day, Ukrainian defenders destroyed a Russian command post, 11 military positions and shot down an enemy Su-25

On March 15, Ukrainian aviation launched 8 strikes on the invading Russian forces' military positions. At the same time, the AFU shot down an enemy Su-25 aircraft.

Over the past day, missile and artillery units struck a command post, 3 military positions, as well as 2 radar stations, an electronic warfare station and an anti-aircraft missile system at a firing position.

Near the state Ukrainian border with Russia and Belarus, the situation hasn't changed significantly, and no enemy offensive groups have been detected. 

At the same time, the Russian Federation continued shelling the entire border line: one settlement in the Chernihiv region, 6 more in the Sumy region, as well as 8 villages in the Kharkiv region were attacked. 

Russian attacks in other Ukrainian regions

In the Kupiansk and Lyman directions, the enemy troops keep trying to break through the Ukrainian troops' defense. They conducted unsuccessful offensives in two areas. Over 12 settlements came under fire 

In the Bakhmut direction, Russia continues to storm the city of Bakhmut. Ukrainian defenders repelled the enemy's attacks near 2 settlements. 11 localities in the Donetsk region were subjected to shelling.

In the Avdiivka, Marinka and Shakhtarsk directions, the Russian forces conducted unsuccessful offensives. Over 15 settlements came under enemy fire.

In the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, the Russian enemy is conducting defensive actions. 10 towns and villages near the contact line came under fire.
