Ukraine hands over 5 seriously wounded POWs to Russia, including woman
In accordance with the Geneva Conventions, on April 10, Ukraine repatriated 5 more seriously wounded prisoners of war, including a woman, to Russia
The Coordination Center for the Treatment of Prisoners of War reported this.
“In accordance with the Geneva Conventions, the Ukrainian side repatriated five more seriously wounded prisoners of war to the territory of the aggressor state, including the only woman who was in Ukrainian captivity,” the statement said.
“In addition, in Ramadan, a holy month for all Muslims, Ukraine handed over two Muslim prisoners of war who fought in the Russian occupation army,” the headquarters added.
They noted that the condition of the wounded Russian soldiers had been stabilized enough to be transported.
“The repatriation, as stipulated by international humanitarian law, took place without any conditions for the Russian side,” the headquarters emphasized.
