Ten times more than Ukrainians: Monastyrskyi says how many shells Russia uses per day
Russian occupying forces shell about 60,000 shells at Ukrainian defenders per day.
Denys Monastyrskyi, head of Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, states at a meeting with his Czech colleague Vit Rakusan, Ukrinform reports.
"Per day, Russians fire approximately 60,000 shells at our positions. As for what we respond to, it is somewhere between 6,500 and 7,000 (shells - ed.). Approximately 10 times less", he said.
During the meeting, minister also thanked Czech Republic for its support to Ukraine.
"We have specific assistance from Czech Republic for restoration of work of the units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, primarily regarding the restoration of the fire equipment park, the provision of individual protection for our firefighters. In specific situations, we transfer the needs that arise after the destruction of units of our services, which occur every day in Ukraine. In particular, Czech Republic took the Dnipropetrovsk region under its care, and it is there that subdivisions and housing will be rebuilt with its assistance. Concrete assistance is provided not only in Ukraine, but also in the Czech Republic itself. After all, about half a million citizens of Ukraine received the protection of the Czech Republic today", Monastyrskyi said.
Earlier, Ukrainian Armed Forces General Staff reported the destruction of Russian ammunition depots in Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv and Kherson regions.
