RIA Novosti reported the information.

"The topic of recognizing Crimea and the four new regions of Russia was not raised during the conversation," said Peskov, commenting on the phone call between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin on February 12.

He also added that Russia has already started forming a negotiating group for dialogue with the United States. At the same time, according to the Kremlin leader, there is currently "no understanding of the format of a possible negotiation process" regarding the war in Ukraine, so it is premature to talk about Europe's participation in it.

  • U.S. President Donald Trump held his first phone conversation with Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin after being re-elected for a second term. Trump also announced Putin's visits to the U.S. and his own trip to Russia.
