Poland warns Ukraine not to expect NATO invitation to “fall from the sky”
Poland's Defense Minister, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, believes that after the latest statements by Pentagon Chief Pete Hegseth, Ukraine's NATO invitation "will not happen"
He made this statement in the corridors of NATO headquarters in Brussels on Wednesday, February 12, according to a reporter from European Pravda.
Kosiniak-Kamysz noted that Ukraine "has not yet received an invitation" to NATO and, given the latest American statement, that invitation "will not happen."
"If the most important NATO member state does not agree, there is no reason to hope that the invitation will come, or that it will somehow fall from the sky," he added.
The Polish minister also reminded that not only the U.S. but other countries have also not agreed to Ukraine's NATO membership.
At the same time, Kosiniak-Kamysz believes that today "everything must be done to ensure Ukraine wins the war, for a just peace, and to support it."
"I believe all participants in today's meeting are interested in this. A good outcome of the peace talks is a victory for the West, and also for the U.S.," said the head of Poland's Ministry of Defense.
