Operation against Poroshenko: strategic move to divide society

Divide and conquer! This phrase is attributed to Philip II of Macedon, who died in 336 BCE. It is unlikely that Zelenskyy’s Office is aware of Philip II’s existence, but the principle first articulated by Alexander the Great’s father is being widely applied

Recall how skillfully the President’s Office is dividing the army. First, with the help of MP Bezuhla, Zelenskyy incited soldiers against their commanders and made senior officers the army’s biggest enemies. Then, just a few days ago, he offered new recruits one million hryvnias, triggering a tsunami of outrage among those who have been fighting for three years or more and won’t see any such reward.

Yesterday, it became crystal clear, even to the most stubborn, that Trump’s plan to end the war is actually a plan for Ukraine’s capitulation. To implement this plan, Zelenskyy needs a fragmented, divided country that is incapable of resisting capitulation.

"Sanctions against Poroshenko and his potential arrest aren’t about elections – they are another attempt to divide society. Politically, Poroshenko is no longer Zelenskyy’s main opponent. In a potential election, Zelenskyy wouldn’t lose to Poroshenko but to Zaluzhnyi, Prytula, or Budanov. Any of them would easily defeat him in the second round."

The goal of the operation against Poroshenko is to divide society, to spark a deadly feud between Poroshenko’s and Zelenskyy’s supporters, and to prevent them from uniting in order to stop Ukraine’s capitulation according to Trump’s plan.

Zelenskyy understands that he cannot sign a capitulation favorable to Putin, Trump, or even his own voters as long as there is a united “militant minority” forged by the Maidan revolutions and the war.

The task now facing the President’s Office is to divide us, to make us fight each other, so we lose the strength to resist the surrender of our land to Russia, the return of the “Russian world” and the FSB-affiliated church, the disarmament of the army, and the abandonment of sovereignty.

"If we want to survive as a nation and avoid a crushing defeat disguised as Putin’s peace, we must take a deep breath and strive to remain calm and rational."

Personally, I won’t quarrel with Zelenskyy supporters. Yes, I have many questions for them about their choice, which I do not support, but most of them certainly did not vote for him to see national interests surrendered.

We must not allow the President’s Office to divide and weaken us. We, the people of Ukraine and civil society, must remain united and focused on the war, supporting the army, preserving democracy, and ensuring the tradition of peaceful power transitions through democratic elections.

We must understand that the attack on Poroshenko goes far beyond his personality. This is an attack on our unity, aimed at dividing us and ruling over what’s left of Ukraine. We cannot allow that to happen.
