Szijjártó flies to Beijing to discuss China's 'peace plan'
Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó flew to Beijing on Sunday, May 14, 2023
He wrote this on Facebook.
“Our neighbor is at war, Europe is held hostage by the war psychosis, so the efforts of the party of peace are of particular importance. They need to be constantly strengthened. We support the peace plan proposed by the Chinese for two reasons: on the one hand, because it is about peace, and on the other hand, because it exists. Finally, something not about continuing the war, but about ending it,” the Hungarian official explained the purpose of the visit.
According to him, Hungary does not want “relations between Europe and China to become toxic.”
“We do not perceive China as a risk, but as a country with which cooperation gives us great opportunities,” Péter Szijjártó added.
In particular, as the Hungarian Foreign Minister emphasized, “the European automotive industry cannot successfully move into the era of electricity without the participation of Chinese suppliers.”
