Since Feb. 2022, Russians have attacked 112 vital infrastructure facilities in Ukraine 225 times
During the year of full-scale war, the Russians destroyed more than 81,000 civilian objects in Ukraine and deliberately destroyed energy infrastructure
Prosecutor General of Ukraine Andriy Kostin said this during a press conference.
Since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, more than 81,000 civilian objects have been destroyed or damaged. These include 62,229 residential buildings, 2,309 educational and training institutions, 97 religious buildings, 462 medical facilities and other structures.
During this time, the Russians have damaged or destroyed 4,040 infrastructure networks in Ukraine - gas pipelines, water pipelines, and power grids.
Since October 2022, the enemy has been deliberately destroying critical civilian infrastructure in Ukraine, including energy infrastructure. In total, during the year of the full-scale invasion, 255 strikes were carried out on 112 objects. More than 77% of the strikes, 197 took place between October and February.
"We consider these attacks as the deliberate creation of uninhabitable conditions. This corresponds to one of the signs of genocide specified in the UN Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide," said Andriy Kostin.
He added that Russia's aggression has caused long-term environmental damage that the entire world will feel for decades. Damage to the Ukrainian environment, according to the government, has already exceeded $46 billion.
