Scorpions band plans to give concert at Maidan in Kyiv after war
German rockers hope to give a concert of peace on Independence Square in Kyiv after the end of the war
Scorpions’ vocalist Klaus Meine shared his plans with Berliner Kurier.
"I hope that when the war is over, we will have a peaceful concert at the Maidan in Kyiv. I don't think we'll be performing in Russia again," Meine said. "Not in the foreseeable future. It's sad. But you have to draw your own conclusions from reality."
According to him, the band changed the lyrics of their hit song "Wind Of Change" so that it does not romanticize Russia, but contains solidarity with Ukraine.
"After the start of this war, which could not be justified, we asked ourselves if we could continue to play this song. Now it shows our solidarity with Ukraine, not romanticizing Russia as it used to," the vocalist emphasized.
