S-300, S-400 systems don't work against small-sized targets – military expert Kovalenko
The S-300 and S-400 systems don't work against small-sized targets, they work against fighters or cruise and ballistic missiles
Military expert Oleksandr Kovalenko said this on Espreso TV.
“The S-400 is actually a modernization of the Soviet S-300. There are different estimates of the number of missiles - from 4,000 to 7,000 units. This is a very large number. There is a very important point - the S-300 and S-400 systems do not work against small-sized targets, they work against fighters or cruise and ballistic missiles. To put it mildly, they do not see small objects – they are not effective,” he said.
Kovalenko added that a short-range weapons echelon is being used against them.
“The Russians have Tor-M2 and Pantsir-S1 surface-to-air missiles. The second one in Syria showed that out of 100% of missiles fired at drones, it was 13% effective. Out of the 12 missiles in the package, only one or two shot down a drone or UAV,” the expert summarized.
