Russia's mass attack damages energy facilities both in eastern and southern Ukraine
On December 16, as a result of the Russian attack, energy facilities have been damaged both in Eastern and Southern Ukraine. Emergency power outages apply.
This was reported by Ukrainian Energy Minister, Herman Halushchenko.
"Another wave of massive Russian shelling of the energy infrastructure. Energy facilities have already been damaged both in the east and in the south parts of the country," the minister writes.
Halushchenko reported that as of 10 a.m. the attack has not stop.
"There is a possibility power generation will drop. As soon as it becomes possible, the energy companies will restore the energy supply," Halushchenko added.
The deputy head of Presidential Office, Kyrylo Tymoshenko writes that emergency power outages have been introduced throughout the country.
"Due to energy facilities damage, emergency power outages are introduced across the country," Tymoshenko writes.
It is reported that all the necessary services are working at the sites where Russian missiles struck.
Also, the deputy head asks Ukrainians to be understanding towards power outages and temporary suspension of water and heat supply.
