Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine: 373 children are killed, over 721 injured
Invading Russian forces have killed 373 children, injured 721, and damaged 2,328 educational institutions during Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
This was reported by the Prosecutor General's Office on Telegram.
"As of the morning of August 21, 2022, more than 1,094 children were injured in Ukraine as a result of the full-scale armed aggression of the Russian Federation. According to the official information of the juvenile prosecutors, 373 children died and more than 721 were injured of varying degrees of severity", the juvenile prosecutors emphasized.
The data are not final, because they continue to be established in places of active hostilities, in temporarily Russia-occupied and liberated territories.
The most affected children are in Donetsk region - 387, Kharkiv region - 202, Kyiv region - 116, Chernihiv region - 68, Mykolaiv region - 64, Luhansk region - 61, Kherson region - 55, and Zaporizhzhia region - 41.
On August 20, Russian shelling of residential infrastructure in Voznesensk in the Mykolaiv region seriously injured three children aged 3 to 8 years.
During the recording of Russia's war crimes in Mariupol, it became known about the death of 10 more children aged 1 to 17 years.
"Due to bombing and shelling by the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, 2,328 educational institutions were damaged. Of them, 289 were completely destroyed," the Prosecutor General's Office added.
