Orphans from Russian-occupied Luhansk to be added to Russian register by end of 2024
Russia plans to include all children from the temporarily occupied Luhansk region who have been left without parents into the so-called federal bank of orphans of the Russian Federation by the end of 2024
This was reported by the National Resistance Center.
A local collaborator, Inna Shvenk, previously appointed as the “children's ombudsman of the LPR,” is assisting in enrolling children from the occupied Luhansk region into the federal bank of orphans of the Russian Federation.
"This is another crime committed by the Russian Federation in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. These actions are part of a deliberate policy aimed at deporting Ukrainian children and forcibly integrating them into Russian society," the National Resistance Center emphasized.
They further noted that these actions by Russia facilitate the illegal adoption of Ukrainian children within Russia.

On May 3, Dmytro Lubinets, Ukraine's Commissioner for Human Rights, revealed that Russian authorities had started compiling lists of children from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine with the intention of deporting them to Russia. These lists primarily focus on children who are orphans or those deprived of parental care.
