Russian soldiers refuse to go on assaults, surrender in groups
Invading Russian troops are increasingly refusing to participate in assault operations at the front and have begun to surrender to Ukrainian captivity in groups
This was reported by the spokesman of the Joint Press Center of the Tavria Defense Forces, Colonel Oleksandr Shtupun, RBC-Ukraine reports.
"There is information about an increasing number of Russian soldiers’ refusals to participate in assault operations. In particular, this is recorded in the units of the 1st Army Corps of the Russian Armed Forces. It should be noted that whole groups of Russian servicemen have begun to surrender," said Stupun.
According to him, over the past three days, one group of six soldiers was captured by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in a short battle. Another group of almost the same size surrendered without a fight.
Shtupun noted that one of the reasons why Russians surrendered was the inhumane treatment they received from their command.
"Because for refusing to go on pointless assaults or for any other offenses, officers strip them naked, and it is winter, put them in cold pits, beat them and threaten to shoot them," said the spokesman.
