Russian forces plan to loot exhibits from Crimean museums
Invading Russian forces are preparing to loot collections and exhibits from museums in Crimea and move them to the Russian Federation
This is reported by the Crimean Institute of Strategic Studies.
Experts note that packaging material for the "evacuation" of collections was brought to some of the Crimean museums. The non-governmental organization reported that such measures may begin in the event of the Russian troops' retreat to Perekop and the Ukrainian defenders' offensive on the left bank of the Dnipro River.
According to the sources of the Babel publication, plywood boxes, foam rolls and films were brought to the museum of the temporarily occupied peninsula. “They are subordinate to the occupying Ministry of Culture of Crimea. We are talking about museums in Bakhchisarai, Sudak, Simferopol and Yevpatoria,” Babel writes.
