Spokesman for the Ukrainian Air Force Command Yuriy Ihnat noted that the Russian forces use airfields in the occupied Ukrainian territories
He said this on the air of the Espreso TV channel.
"Russian aircraft are constantly on the territory of Belarus – fighters and bombers. Now Russian bombers and attack aircraft are operating in eastern Ukraine. Yesterday, a Russian attack aircraft and a bomber were destroyed by Ukrainian air defense forces," Ihnat pointed out.
According to him, the Russian forces are conducting exercises in Belarus to join forces with the Belarusian army.
"Russia uses not only Belarusian airfields, which are actually occupied by Russia. Russians also use airfields in the occupied Ukrainian territories, in the occupied Crimea. Russia uses about 40 airfields in its aggression against our country," Ihnat explained.
