UN condemns Russian attack on Ukraine on January 23
UN Humanitarian Coordinator in Ukraine Denise Brown condemned Russia's morning attack on Ukrainian territory on January 23
The UN reported the information.
"I was having coffee at home this morning in Kyiv, my neighbours were getting ready for work, children preparing to go to school, when our homes started to shake because of a wave of airstrikes on the Ukrainian capital," she wrote.
She added that the attacks damaged civilian buildings near the UN office in Kyiv.
According to Brown, UN officials in Kharkiv reported that rescuers were trying to find people under the rubble of a residential building, and a wave of air strikes also caused casualties and destruction in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
"These strikes are yet another bitter reminder of the devastation, suffering and distress that Russia’s invasion is causing for millions of people in Ukraine," she emphasized. "Brutal and indiscriminate attacks against civilians must stop.”
