Trump, like Zelenskyy before him, believes he can read Putin’s eyes
Trump wins, and the Republicans secure the Senate majority. Among them are both isolationists and strong supporters of Ukraine

Ukraine was ready for this, which is why Zelenskyy, in his “Victory Plan” document, included proposals to grant foreign access to Ukrainian minerals and allow Ukrainian soldiers to serve at U.S. military bases worldwide. The plan’s authors thought this might appeal to Trump.
There's plenty of work ahead. Trump, like Zelenskyy before him, believes he can look Putin in the eye and resolve everything. Some of his supporters think so too.
In the end, it’s Ukraine’s soldiers who will decide the fate of the world. But in such circumstances, our government needs to grow up and take responsibility.
