Ukrainian author and musician Serhiy Zhadan mobilizes into Ukrainian Armed Forces
Ukrainian author, musician and public figure Serhiy Zhadan has mobilized to the National Guard and is already undergoing training
He announced this on his Facebook page.
He noted that he had joined the 13th 'Khartia' Brigade of Ukraine's National Guard.
"I joined the 13th 'Khartia' Brigade of the National Guard. I am undergoing training. I am serving the Ukrainian people,” wrote Zhadan and posted a photo of himself in uniform.
Zhadan has been honored with numerous international awards, including the German Hannah Arendt Prize for Political Thinking, the Swedish Kurt Tucholsky Prize, and the Freedom Prize from the German Frank Schirrmacher Foundation. Additionally, the Polish newspaper Gazeta Wyborcza named Serhii Zhadan as the Person of the Year 2022. Furthermore, in the same year, the Committee of Literary Studies of the Polish Academy of Sciences nominated the Kharkiv poet Serhii Zhadan for the Nobel Prize in Literature.
