Russian spy drone crashes in occupied Dovzhansk, Luhansk region
An Orlan reconnaissance drone has crashed in the town of Dovzhansk, Luhansk region
Artem Lysohor, head of the Luhansk regional military administration, reported the information.
Lysohor stated, "In the heart of Dovzhansk, which has been under occupation for a decade, the invaders' Orlan reconnaissance drone crashed. It's clear whose it is. Locals witnessed its launch."
He emphasized that despite this incident, local collaborators refrained from making any reassuring statements to the population. "They won't act without instructions from above," Lysohor stressed.
Furthermore, Lysohor noted that people have not returned to the occupied Popasna due to the city's complete destruction by the Russians during the spring 2022 assault.
Russia apparently recognized the futility of demonstrating reconstruction efforts or seizing valuable assets, officially declaring the impracticality of restoring the settlement soon after its capture.
The majority of the population had been evacuated even before the city's capture. Presently, only 280 people, representing 1.4% of the pre-war population, reside there.
- During the night of May 12, Russia claimed a drone attack on an oil refinery in the Volgograd region, resulting in a significant fire at the facility.
