Russian forces attempt to assault on motorcycles in Siversk sector - Ukrainian military
Stepan Barna, commander with the BARNI unit, says that Russia is attacking mainly with infantry, but there was an attempt to break through by a group of 30 soldiers on 15 motorcycles
He said this on Espreso TV.
"Russia is trying to carry out assault actions of various kinds every day in the Siversk sector, as well as in other sectors. Most of the attacks involve enemy infantry. Two days ago, the Russians even attempted to conduct an assault on motorcycles. There was a group of about 15 motorcycles, each with two invaders, who intended to break through deep into the territory controlled by the Ukrainian Defense Forces. However, the entire group was destroyed, and the enemy's offensive was stopped," said the commander of the BARNI unit.
According to him, the 10th Brigade has been in the Siversk sector for two years now, and the brigade took up its positions in September 2022.
"I would like to say that our battalion's area of responsibility is mainly field terrain. Therefore, if we talk about successes, they boil down to the fact that we have lost a landing or a field or have regained it. Obviously, we are targeting certain settlements, but the key task is to stay in our area of responsibility," emphasized Stepan Barna.
- On September 19, the General Staff reported that Ukrainian defenders repelled three Russian assault actions near Verkhniokamianske and Ivano-Daryivka in the Siversk sector. As of September 18, the Russian army has lost 1,130 soldiers in the war in Ukraine. Ukrainian defenders destroyed 14 enemy tanks and 13 armored combat vehicles.
