Russian forces attack Toretsk, Donetsk region, with artillery, killing one person
On Sunday, February 4, Russian troops launched an artillery strike on the city of Toretsk, Donetsk region, killing one person and wounding two more
Vadym Filashkin, the head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, reported the information.
Russian forces struck the city at around 1pm. Russian artillery hit a residential area. As a result, one person was killed and two others were injured.
According to the head of the regional military administration, the wounded were taken to the nearest hospital.
"We are investigating the exact consequences of the shelling," added Filashkin.
Later, the Donetsk regional prosecutor's office clarified that a 58-year-old resident was killed in the middle of a street as a result of the attack.
Two citizens were injured: A 41-year-old man and a woman who were near an apartment building were taken to the hospital. They both had shrapnel wounds to their limbs.
Shrapnel also damaged several nearby buildings.
The prosecutor's office is conducting a pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings on the fact of violation of the laws and customs of war (part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
- Meanwhile, Russian Governor of Kursk Region Roman Starovoit said that on the morning of February 4, the region was allegedly attacked by drones. As a result, communication facilities were allegedly damaged.
