This is according to the Center for Strategic Communications and Information Security.
"In Ukraine, they steal and resell on the black market the weapons that the USA transfers to repel Russian aggression," propagandists claim, citing the U.S. Department of Defense.
Contrary to these claims, the January report from the Inspector General of the U.S. Department of Defense contains no accusation of Ukraine embezzling or reselling weapons. The document highlights challenges in tracking American equipment after the full-scale invasion, citing limited American presence due to the evacuation of the US embassy in Kyiv.
- Russia aims to portray President Vladimir Putin as an advocate for peace in Ukraine, contrasting with the United States. This strategy seeks to shift responsibility for the war onto the United States, a narrative unsupported by the facts.
