He told about it on Espreso TV channel.

“The enemy started using guided aerial bombs, KABs, directly on the regional center, on the city of Zaporizhzhia. And, unfortunately, this is an expected situation that implements the enemy's formula: high-explosive aerial bombs (FABs) turn into KABs. The thing is that the enemy has modernized its aircraft bombs, which it has a lot of, I'm talking about FABs. And it uses the so-called UMPC, which is a universal planning and correction module for the same bombs, which can now fly further. That is, aviation still uses them, but the distance has changed, it has become longer, in fact, up to 80 kilometers,” he said.

Bratchuk emphasized that unlike cruise missiles, KABs cannot be shot down, so he urged the people of Zaporizhzhia not to neglect air raid warnings.

“Of course, we are talking about what could be the solution to these horrors, and again, these are realities, this is not to intimidate anyone, but to call on civilians to pay attention to air raid warning signals, because it is impossible to shoot down KABs today. This is not a cruise missile, so we are saying that all these means that can counteract the enemy's use of such aerial bombs today are the actions of the Defense Forces. This is, of course, a huge work of our intelligence, which has to detect, find, and, in fact, then special forces or firepower to destroy these warehouses, which the enemy has enough of, they also have, the enemy keeps, of course, in secret places such aircraft bombs,” Bratchuk said.

Therefore, according to the Ukrainian Volunteer Army spokesperson, it is possible to counteract the UAVs either by shooting down the warplanes that launch them or the warehouses where the bombs are stored.

“What can be done today, of course, is to destroy the carriers first of all, as I have already said, unfortunately, it is impossible to intercept aircraft bombs, but the carriers - aircraft - must be destroyed. Should they be destroyed in the air, of course, but the point is that this destruction will be primarily at the airfields. This is the destruction of the infrastructure of these military airfields, and for this, I emphasize, Ukraine needs permits to use long-range weapons. Therefore, there is a lot of work to be done, it is extremely difficult, and the situation, unfortunately, has worsened in this regard,” he added.

  • On the evening of Sunday, September 22, the Russian occupation army attacked Zaporizhzhia with guided aerial bombs. As a result, at least 21 people were injured. The buildings were partially destroyed.
