Russia sentences 3 Ukrainian marines to almost 30 years in prison
A court of the so-called Donetsk People's Republic sentenced three Ukrainian marines to 28 and 29.5 years in prison for allegedly killing civilians
The advisor to the mayor of Mariupol, Petro Andriushchenko, and the Russian Prosecutor General's Office reported this.
The Russian occupation forces sentenced Bohdan Potapov, Dmytro Braiko and Eskender Kudusov, all members of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Marine Brigade.
The Russian Prosecutor General's Office says that in April 2022, Potapov allegedly shot two civilians on the territory of the Mariupol Metallurgical Plant, and that Kudusov and Braiko allegedly gave the order.
The Russian occupation authorities sentenced Potapov and Braiko to 28 years in prison, and Kudusov to 29 years and 6 months.
‘It is worth recalling that it was the Russians who forced the civilian population to wear white armbands similar to the tactical markings of the Russians. Back then, in the spring of 2022, I wrote that they would use it later - the time has come. In total, more than 120 heroes of the defense of Mariupol have already been sentenced to long terms for crimes they did not commit,’ Andriushchenko wrote.
- On September 3, the Southern District Military Court of Russia sentenced two men to 16 and 20 years for allegedly collaborating with Ukrainian special services.
