Russia loses five boats - spokesman details Dnipro left bank situation
Captain Dmytro Lykhoviy, spokesman for the Tavria operational and strategic grouping of troops, noted that Russian forces are attempting to attack the footholds of the Defense Forces of Ukraine on the left bank of the Dnipro River
He stated this on Espreso TV on August 9.
"From time to time, the Russian army tries to attack our footholds on the left bank of the Dnipro, north of the village of Krynky. However, given the nature of the terrain, Russia is not successful. Additionally, it is very difficult for them to reach Ukrainian firing positions there, as they must cross straits and water obstacles, which results in significant losses for their boats. For example, yesterday Russian forces lost five boats, despite the absence of direct military clashes," noted Lykhoviy.
The spokesman also noted that on the Zaporizhzhia front, Russian forces are attacking the positions of the Defense Forces of Ukraine with small infantry groups and without using armored vehicles.
"However, they are actively employing artillery and other means of destruction. As a result, the positions are periodically destroyed, and the Ukrainian military is forced to change their positions. Over the past day, the total losses of Russian forces in our operational area amounted to 75 people, including 40 killed, 34 wounded, and one captured," emphasized the spokesman for the Tavria operational and strategic grouping of troops.
