Ukrainian air defense downs 34 Russian drones overnight
On the night of Saturday, January 4, Russian forces launched another attack on Ukraine with combat drones. Ukrainian air defense units successfully destroyed 34 Russian UAVs
The Ukrainian Air Force reported the information.
From 7:00 p.m. on January 3 to the following morning, Russian troops launched 81 Shahed-type attack drones and various types of drone imitators towards Ukraine from Bryansk, Kursk, Oryol, and Primorsk-Akhtarsk in Russia.
The Ukrainian Air Force, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, mobile fire groups, and the Ukrainian Defense Forces intercepted the air assault.
By 9:00 a.m., 34 attack drones were confirmed destroyed in Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, and Mykolaiv regions.
Additionally, 47 Russian drone imitators were lost due to active counteraction by the Ukrainian Defense Forces. However, the downed drones caused damage in Chernihiv and Sumy regions, damaging private homes.
