Russia doesn't abandon plans to reach administrative borders of Zaporizhzhia region
Invading Russian troops are forming assault units to continue their offensive and push the Ukrainian Armed Forces from their positions in the Zaporizhzhia sector
Freedom Legion fighter Kostiantyn Denysov said this on Espreso TV.
“Russian forces need to regain control of several important logistics areas that they have lost. Therefore, they do not abandon their plans to reach the administrative borders of Zaporizhzhia region," he said.
The Freedom Legion fighter spoke about the means that the Russian army has concentrated in the Zaporizhzhia sector.
"There are enough resources there to conduct shelling 24/7. Some of them work, move, fire, and support their assault infantry. Other vehicles are used as artillery pieces. They have various tanks, from T-55s to more or less modern, upgraded ones like T-80s. The Russian forces also have a lot of self-propelled guns and cannons," he said.
The Ukrainian Defense Forces are knocking out and targeting Russian troops, but they still have a lot of equipment in this area, Denysov said.
"Moreover, there are several Russian artillery units in the Zaporizhzhya sector. Motorised riflemen are also actively provided with artillery weapons. Therefore, they have a significant advantage over us here. They have the ability to outnumber us," he added.
- On January 29, the General Staff reported that in the Zaporizhzhia sector, Ukrainian soldiers repelled an attack by Russian forces north of Pryiutne.
