Ukraine's Defense Ministry aims to expand drone coalition to 20 countries
The Ministry of Defense is actively working towards enlisting a minimum of 20 countries to join the drone coalition, which currently comprises 8 partner nations
Kateryna Chernohorenko, Deputy Minister of Defense for Digital Development, Digital Transformations, and Digitalization, confirmed this development.
She stated, "The drone coalition was officially launched at the last Ramstein, with Latvia and Great Britain as our founding countries. We appreciate our partners' leadership and their pivotal role in advancing unmanned systems. Presently, we have 8 countries as members of the drone coalition."
Chernohorenko outlined three ongoing aspects of the coalition's efforts, including the procurement of Ukrainian-made unmanned aerial vehicles using financial assistance from partners, the import of ready-made unmanned aerial vehicles from coalition nations, and collaborative efforts on technological solutions crucial for the efficient operation of these systems.
- On February 17, Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov signed a corresponding letter of intent, expressing gratitude to the co-leaders of the drone coalition. The coalition was formally initiated as part of the activities of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group.
