Military observer explains why Russia increased number of bomb strikes on Zaporizhzhia
Military observer Denys Popovych explained that Russian army managed to increase the range of the guided aerial bombs, which led to intensified attacks on Ukraine's Zaporizhzhia
He told about this on Espreso TV.
"Regarding the increase in the number of attacks by the guided aerial bombs on Zaporizhzhia, which the Russian forces have intensified in recent weeks. Indeed, in recent weeks, the occupying Russian army have been actively attacking Zaporizhzhia. This is due to the fact that they have managed to increase the range of these guided aerial bombs by improving the planning and correction module. They are now able to bomb our territory at a distance of over 80 km. However, it is worth noting where the guided aerial bombs are falling. The occupying Russian troops are attacking residential areas and civilian infrastructure. That is, in fact, they continue to terrorize the civilian population. They continue to intimidate civilians and destroy infrastructure," Popovych explained.
The observer also commented on the information about the Russian occupation army's preparations for active assault operations in the Zaporizhzhia sector.
"We have to understand that if the Russian Federation were preparing for offensive operations in the Zaporizhzhia sector, they would first of all attack military targets, not civilian ones. In particular, logistics, troop locations, and facilities related to military infrastructure. Instead, they continue to hit civilians, unleashing terror and intimidating ordinary people," he added.
- On the afternoon of Tuesday, October 1, the Russian enemy launched 6 attacks with high-explosive bombs on residential areas of Zaporizhzhia. As a result, one person was killed and 35 were wounded.
