One killed, 35 injured as Russia hits Zaporizhzhia with high-explosive bombs

On the morning of October 2, the head of the Regional Military Administration reported that the number of victims had increased to 35.
Ukraine's National Police reported that police were working at the sites of the attacks. As of 7:00 p.m., it is reported that 32 people were injured in the Russian strike.
Among the injured are 14 men, 15 women and 3 young children aged twelve, ten and nine.
Earlier, Ivan Fedorov, the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, reportedthat the number of injured has increased to 24, including 9 men, 12 women, and three children aged 9, 10, and 12. One man has died.
Previously, he reported 21 wounded and one dead.
"Twenty-one people sought medical assistance due to the Russian attack, including a 12-year-old child. One man has died," he stated.
"The debris is being cleared, and the aftermath of the strikes is being addressed. Doctors, law enforcement, rescuers, and public utility workers are all on the spot," Fedorov added.
Earlier, he mentioned that Russia struck Zaporizhzhia six times.
The attacks hit residential areas and infrastructure. Initially, two injuries were reported, but later Fedorov clarified that the number of injured had increased to five, and one person died as a result of the attack.
"High-rise buildings and private homes were damaged, and there were hits to infrastructure facilities,” he emphasized.
By 12:52, Fedorov updated the number of injured to six.
The National Police reported that Russian forces launched six strikes with high-explosive bombs.
“The strikes hit both infrastructure and residential areas in Zaporizhzhia. So far, we know of six wounded citizens, and one person has died,” the statement said.
As of 1:00 p.m., the number of victims had increased to seven, according to the State Emergency Service.
The attacks damaged a fifteen-story building, partially destroying the upper floors and damaging the facade, as well as 25 vehicles. Rescuers also freed two people trapped in an elevator, though they declined hospitalization after being examined by doctors.
In addition, private homes and outbuildings in one of the city’s districts sustained significant damage, and several fires broke out. Ivan Fedorov stated that the number of casualties from the Russian shelling in Zaporizhzhia has now risen to nine.
Earlier, the Air Force had warned of the launch of aerial bombs toward the city.
