Is peace possible this fall, winter, or spring?
No, peace in this war doesn’t hinge on the changing seasons. Nor does it depend on the decisions of Ukraine’s president, the U.S. president, or any other allied leader
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: peace in the Russia-Ukraine war will only arrive after the complete defeat of either Russia or Ukraine and its allies. There are no other forces that will settle this conflict.
Sure, at any point — whether in the fall or another season — you can sign something and call it peace, or maybe a ceasefire. Some of our Western allies are already fantasizing about spring 2025 elections.
But the reality is that whatever you sign or imagine has to be enforced on the ground, not just on paper.
So, unless Russia collapses this fall or by next spring, there will be no peace and no elections. It doesn’t matter what gets signed or agreed upon at the highest levels. And if anyone tries to push for peace or elections in these conditions, the outcome will be the exact opposite of what they intended. That’s a 100% guarantee.
Here’s the simple truth: if you want peace, push for victory. That goes for everyone — both in Ukraine and abroad.
