British intelligence names Russia's priority direction in Donetsk region
According to British intelligence, the Russian occupying army has focused its main efforts on the Avdiivka-Pokrovsk direction
The UK Ministry of Defence reported the information.
The ministry noted that over the past 72 hours, a high level of Russian military activity has been observed in this area, particularly near Avdiivka and Pokrovsk.
"The Avdiivka-Pokrovsk sector has remained the probable main effort of Russian forces over the last 72 hours, with a high level of operational activity. Russian forces made minor gains, in the northern part of this sector toward the villages of Sokol and Yevhenivka. On a parallel axis approximately 3km further south Russian forces are likely approaching the outskirts of the village of Novoselivka Persha," the statement said.
According to British intelligence, Russian forces have not made any significant advances further south.
In addition, the Ukrainian Defence Forces repelled Russian attacks on the village of Nevelske, and the village is likely to remain under Ukrainian control.
"Over the next week this sector is likely to remain an area of significant operational focus as Russian forces attempt to maintain operational tempo in the face of heavy losses," the UK Ministry of Defence warned.
- According to a report by the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, 42 combat clashes have taken place at the front since the beginning of the day on June 4. The Ukrainian Defence Forces are repelling Russian attacks in several directions.
