Argentina rules out providing weapons to Ukraine, pledges humanitarian and logistical aid
The Argentine government has ruled out the possibility of sending weapons to Ukraine, but promises humanitarian and logistical assistance
Todo Noticias reports.
Argentine Presidential Spokesman Manuel Adorni said the country "is not going to intervene in the conflict in any way."
"We are not going to provide any military support or intervene in the military conflict in any way," he said.
During the press conference, Adorni emphasized that "humanitarian and logistical support" would be offered.
Adorni's statements came a few hours after Russia expressed "deep disappointment and concern" over the recent actions of Argentine President Javier Milei and warned of possible military aid to Ukraine.
"These actions will be considered hostile actions against Russia," said Russian Ambassador to Argentina Dmitry Feoktistov.
He also "questioned" Argentina's membership in the Ramstein Contact Group on Ukraine's defense, which met on Thursday with Defense Minister Luis Petri.
"As for the participation of Argentine Defense Minister Luis Petri in the Brussels meeting within the Ramstein coalition, there are no official comments from the Argentine side. The fact that Buenos Aires is getting closer to Ukraine's military patrons is a matter of deep disappointment for us," Feoktistov said.
- On June 13, Argentina joined the Contact Group on Ukraine's Defense in the Ramstein format.
