Ukraine's General Staff reveals number of military trained abroad
Since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, over 100,000 Ukrainian servicemen have been trained in partner countries
Deputy Chief of the Main Department of Doctrine and Training of Ukraine's General Staff Yevhen Mezhevikin said this, Ukrinform reports.
"In 2022, 2023, and 2024, more than 100,000 servicemen were trained on the territory of partner countries, ranging from basic training, specialists in various types/branches of the military, leadership training, staff coordination, etc. That is, a very large amount of work has been undertaken by our partners," Mezhevikin said.
According to him, cooperation with NATO member states and partners in training the Ukrainian military is ongoing and developing.
"This clearly confirms that Ukraine is not alone in the fight against the Russian aggressor," he added.
The EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, said that the European Union would extend the mission to train the Ukrainian military for another two years.
