71 clashes occur at front on Oct.19: Russia active in Kurakhove, Kupyansk, Pokrovsk sectors - Ukraine's General Staff

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff reported this as of 4:00 p.m.

"The invaders are using all available forces and means to achieve their goals. Our defenders are stopping the enemy, holding the lines and destroying the Russians' plans," the statement says.

A total of 71 combat engagements took place since the beginning of the day.

Senkivka, Chernihiv region, suffered from terrorist attacks by Russian artillery. Russia dropped four air bombs on Shostka, Sumy region, killing and wounding people. The enemy also launched 24 air strikes on the territory of the Kursk region, using 34 guided bombs.

Frontline situation

Today, in the Kharkiv sector, Russian forces stormed the defensive lines of Ukrainian troops six times near Starytsia and Vovchansk. At present, fighting continues in four locations.

In the Kupyansk sector, the enemy actively attacked the Ukrainian positions nine times in the areas of Kucherivka, Kolisnykivka, Kruhliakivka, and Lozova. Five engagements are ongoing. Ukrainian soldiers continue to hold the defense.

Today, in the Lyman sector, the invading army launched five attacks on Ukrainian positions in the areas of Novomykhailivka, Hrekivka, Terny, and Serebrianka. The fighting continues.

In the Kramatorsk sector, the invaders stormed the Ukrainian troops’ positions near Andriivka and Stupochky. The enemy's attacks were repelled.

In the Toretsk sector, the enemy, with the support of aviation, attacked in the direction of Oleksandro-Shultyne, dropping guided aerial bombs on Toretsk and Katerynivka.

In the Pokrovsk sector, since the beginning of the day, the Russians have made eight attempts to push Ukrainian defenders from their positions in the areas of Myroliubivka, Promin, and Selydove. The Defense Forces are holding back the onslaught and have repelled five enemy attacks so far, and three attacks are still ongoing. The enemy's losses are being clarified.

Fighting continues near Zoriane, Novodmytrivka, Zhelannyi Druhyi, Hirnyk, Heorhiivka, Maksymilianivka, Antonivka, and Katerynivka in the Kurakhove sector. According to the updated information, seven out of 21 Russian attacks have been repelled in the area so far. Fierce fighting continues.

In the Vremivka sector, the enemy, supported by aviation, twice stormed the Ukrainian positions near Novoukrainka and Bohoiavlenka. Two combat engagements took place. Enemy aircraft attacked Bohoiavlenka with a guided aerial bomb.

In the Orikhiv sector, Ukrainian troops repelled two attempts by the occupiers to attack Ukrainian positions near Mala Tokmachka.

In the Prydniprovskyi sector, Russia continues to try to drive Ukrainian units from their positions, having conducted five attacks today, and one firefight is currently ongoing.

• Lieutenant General Ihor Romanenko noted that in the Kharkiv region, the Ukrainian Defense Forces managed to conduct counterattacks around Pishchane and further south.
