Russia drops guided bombs on Shostka, killing one person, injuring 8 more
On the night of October 19, the Russian army dropped three guided bombs on central Shostka in the Sumy region, killing one man and injuring eight others
The Sumy Regional Prosecutor's Office reports.
“The body of a dead man was found under the rubble in a building in Shostka. As a result, 8 people were injured and 1 was killed in a night air strike on the city,” the statement says.
Earlier, the Prosecutor General's Office reported that, according to preliminary information, on October 19 at about 00:20 a.m., the occupiers dropped three guided aerial bombs on the central part of Shostka, Sumy region.
“As a result of the Russian attack, 8 people were wounded. The educational and medical institutions, premises of a number of institutions, residential buildings and vehicles were damaged,” the statement says.
Under the procedural supervision of the Shostka District Prosecutor's Office, a pre-trial investigation is being conducted into the violation of the laws and customs of war (Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
5 rescuers wounded in attack
The State Emergency Service reported that the building of the fire and rescue unit in Shostka was partially destroyed as a result of the Russian attack on October 19. At the time of the attack, the staff was in a shelter.
“5 rescuers were injured and hospitalized. The building and 6 units of the State Emergency Service equipment were damaged,” the statement said.
On the night of October 19, the Russian army attacked Ukraine with attack drones and missiles. Due to hits to critical infrastructure in the Sumy and Chernihiv regions, emergency power outage schedules were introduced.
