North Korean troops in Ukraine must be red line for US, NATO: Congressman Turner addresses Biden
House Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Turner has sent a letter to President Joe Biden about North Korea’s role in supporting Russia in the war against Ukraine
Mike Turner reported this on the social network X.
In his letter, the congressman noted that public reports from Ukrainian and South Korean intelligence agencies detail the possible movement of North Korean troops on Russian ships this month.
Turner complains that the Biden administration has not informed Congress of any assessments by the US intelligence community or the Department of Defense on this.
“These troop movements, if true, are alarming and are an extreme escalation of the conflict in Ukraine. They require an immediate response from the United States and our NATO allies to avoid a widening conflict,” the congressman wrote.
He also called for an immediate classified briefing by the U.S. House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence on the possible involvement of North Korean troops in the war.
