Does Trump have plan?
Trump seeks a quick truce in the Russia-Ukraine war, without a clear plan, leaving Ukraine to negotiate terms while facing uncertain support
All the preliminary proposals of people close to the new US president indicate the following
1. Trump seeks to stop the Russian-Ukrainian war on the principle of “war stop, one-two.”
2. He does not really care whether Ukraine's interests are taken into account. However, Russia's interests are not much more important.
3. He doesn't care how long this “peace” lasts. He is old, he needs a victory here and now, triumphant and exuberant.
4. Let someone else keep it all in balance.
Nevertheless.
5. He has no plan.
None at all. The proposal “let the Europeans put peacekeepers there” is as absurd as “let's build a wall and the Mexicans will pay for it,” only at the highest level.
Thus, as of now, he has no idea how to achieve even a short-term peace.
“It is highly likely that he hopes to simply crush them with authority. This has already happened. In this way, during his first term, he made a great foreign policy victory - he pacified and denuclearized North Korea. You know the result.”
If he tries to repeat this success, it will be a consolidation along the contact line on the word of honor of his dear friend Vladimir Vladimirovich.
What options does Ukraine have?
First, we need to understand that we are not being persuaded to peace, but to a temporary truce. That is, even if it is declared, there will be new aggression. The question is when and under what conditions.
Thus, it makes sense to bargain for these conditions to be favorable to us. The ideal option is “dear friend Donald, we cannot officially give up the occupied territories, but we are ready not to fight for them as long as you are president. And we will even leave Kursk ourselves. The only request is that you arrange for the Russians from Kherson and Zaporizhzhia to leave.”
Of course, the Russians will start to resist. But let it be their task to quarrel with Donald.
We can actually fight without direct US support. At this stage, we can, provided that we continue to receive support from other countries. Our bottlenecks are not in the supply of weapons. But will this support continue? In short, we are entering another period of turbulence.
However, I should also note that the enemy has been in it for a long time.
