90 combat clashes take place along frontline on Oct. 10: most intense in Lyman, Kurakhove, Pokrovsk sectors

Since the beginning of October 10, 90 combat engagements took place on the Russian-Ukrainian frontline: the enemy is attacking most actively in the Lyman, Kurakhove and Pokrovsk sectors

Russian troops are attacking the border of Sumy and Chernihiv regions with artillery and aircraft. Today, the areas of Oleksandriya, Bilopillya, Shalygino, Yelino, Klyusy, Pavlivka, Boyaro-Lezhachi, Progress and Popivka were hit by artillery shelling from the territory of Russia. In addition, Russian army attacked the areas of Holyshivske and Richky, dropping a total of five aerial bombs.

Also, according to available information, today the Russian forces carried out six air strikes in the Kursk region, using seven aircraft bombs. 

Situation on the frontline 

Today, in the Kharkiv sector, Russian invaders twice stormed the defensive lines of Ukrainian troops near Vovchansk. 

In the Kupyansk sector, the enemy attacked the positions of Ukrainian troops five times in the areas of Synkivka, Lozova, Kolisnykivka and Stepova Novoselivka. Ukrainian soldiers are holding steadfastly, with fighting taking place in two locations. The occupying Russian forces launched air strikes with guided aerial bombs on Kupyansk-Vuzlovyi.   

In the Lyman sector, the invading Russian army made 21 attacks on Ukrainian positions near Druzhelyubivka, Hrekivka, Ploschanka, Nevske, Makiivka, Novosadove, Torske and in the Serebryansky forest. Nine combat engagements have ended and 12 are ongoing. Yampil and Lyman came under attack with guided aerial bombs, and the enemy used unguided aerial missiles against Serebryanske forestry. 

In the Siversky sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled four attacks by the occupying army near Verkhnekamianske.

In the Kramatorsk sector, the invaders made five assaults on the positions of Ukrainian troops near Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Chasiv Yar and Stupochky. One firefight is currently underway. The situation is under control.

The number of hostile attacks in the Toretsk sector increased to four. The Russian army concentrated its efforts in the area of Toretsk and Shcherbynivka, where the Defense Forces repelled two attacks and two firefights are still ongoing. The Russian forces are actively using aviation in this area, in particular, the areas of Toretsk and Katerynivka are being bombed.

In the Pokrovsk sector, Russian troops have already made 15 attempts to push Ukrainian defenders from their positions near the towns of Selydove, Krutyi Yar, Promin, Lysivka, Myrolyubivka and Kalynove. The defense forces are holding back the assault and have repelled 14 enemy attacks so far. The enemy's losses are being clarified.

Fighting continues near Novoselidivka, Kreminna Balka, Tsukuryno, Heorhiivka, Kostiantynivka, Katerynivka and Antonivka in the Kurakhove sector. According to the updated information, nine attacks of the occupation army were repelled today, three attacks are still ongoing.

In the Vremivka sector, Russian enemy is attacking in the direction of Bohoyavlenka. Three enemy assaults have already been repelled by Ukrainian troops, four combat engagements are ongoing.

In the Orikhiv sector, the invading Russian army made two unsuccessful attempts to attack our units near Mala Tokmachka and Robotyne. Also today, enemy aircraft attacked Zaporizhzhia with three aerial bombs. 

In the Prydniprovskyi sector, Russian enemy tried to drive Ukrainian troops from their positions three times, and one firefight is ongoing. 

  • As of October 9, the Russian occupation army lost 1,080 soldiers in the war in Ukraine. Ukrainian Defense forces destroyed 41 artillery systems and 49 drones.
