17-year-old girls recruited into Zelenskyy's army: media fakes on June 14
The Centre for Countering Disinformation has published a selection of anti-Ukrainian fakes and manipulations that were launched by media on June 14
This was reported by Espreso TV.
According to the Centre for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, disinformation and manipulation appeared in the world on June 14.
Disinformation: Australian blogger Semyon Boykov posted a photo of Ukrainian students in military uniforms on his X page and wrote: "17-year-old Ukrainian girls are being recruited into Zelenskyy's army. Military recruiters from the 95th Brigade visited the first-year students of the Kyiv National University. After an event dedicated to the fallen soldiers of the brigade, the officers began to agitate students to join the ranks of the Armed Forces."
Refutation: In fact, the photo shows cadets during a ceremony to commemorate the fallen graduates of the Military Institute of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
Manipulation: American political activist Charlie Kirk wrote on his page in X: "Biden's new 10-year "bilateral agreement" with Ukraine recklessly entangles America even further with a corrupt, undemocratic kleptocracy on the other side of the planet. It does nothing to protect American prosperity or wellbeing — it does the opposite."
Refutation: The political activist is spreading the Russian narrative of a "corrupt Ukraine" to discredit the agreement between Washington and Kyiv, which aims to strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities in the war for its independence.
- The Russians also continue to discredit Ukraine as it expands its network of diplomatic missions in Africa.
