Russia supplies Iran with military technology in exchange for drones. US and Israel are concerned
The US intends to continue cooperation with Israel and other countries to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons and supplying drones to Russia, which uses them to strike at Ukraine
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken made the statement at a press conference in Jerusalem, Ukrinform reports.
"On Iran, we have – Israel and the United States – a shared commitment," the secretary said.
According to him, these obligations are to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons. In addition, the United States, Israel, and other countries will work together to counter Iran's dangerous activities both in the region and beyond.
"One of those actions is – that we talked about (at the meetings in Jerusalem - ed.) was the provision by Iran to Russia of drones, technology to be used in Russia’s aggression against Ukraine," he clarified.
The secretary emphasized that Russia is supplying Iran with military technology in exchange for drones, which is "of real concern to us and real concern to Israel."
As Ukrinform reported, earlier this week, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken arrived in Jerusalem to meet with Israeli leaders. Among other things, the issue of support for Ukraine was discussed.
