According to Espreso TV correspondent Kateryna Halko, he explained that if Western instructors were sent to Ukraine, Russia could target the training sites or personnel, making it riskier and requiring additional security efforts.
"In Germany and other EU or NATO countries, we have excellent training facilities with better conditions. From a military standpoint, I don’t see any advantage to holding exercises in Ukraine," he said.
Freuding added that military drills could be more effective in Europe, where training can be intensified with more instructors and without the security concerns of conducting exercises in a war zone.
- In February, Major General Christian Freuding, head of the situational center in Ukraine at the German Defense Ministry, emphasized the necessity for Ukraine to enhance its mobilization efforts.
