Russia fires 200 ballistic missiles at Ukraine this year, and this is not a peak figure - Defense Express
Russia fired 200 ballistic missiles at Ukraine in 2024, half of which were made in North Korea
This was stated by Ivan Kyrychevskyi, a military expert at Defense Express, on the Espreso TV channel.
‘There are still questions about the limits of Russian ballistic missiles. For example, between April and September 2022, the Russians fired 800 Iskander missiles. It was then that the question arose that the Russians might need ballistic missiles from Iran or missiles from other countries, as they had exhausted their stockpiles, which they had been accumulating for 10 years, and had not had time to renew them,’ he said.
However, there is no accurate data on the capability of launching the Shahed 'kamikaze' drones. Usually, the Russians do not accumulate them, but use them immediately after receiving them, Kyrychevskyi said. Therefore, the occupying Russian forces can release as many Shaheds as they receive in a production batch.
‘The statistics of the last two weeks fluctuate a lot. Today's record launch of 188 drones is related to how many were delivered from the factory. Unfortunately, this is a deadly assembly line. Unlike ballistic missiles, which require specialized launchers, 'kamikaze' drones can be launched from makeshift sites, and are only limited by the number of drones available,’ he added.
- On the night of November 26, the Russian forces launched 188 drones across Ukraine, each containing up to 85 foreign components.
