Military expert Zgurets estimates duration of Russia's capability for intensive combat operations
Serhiy Zgurets, military expert and Defense Express CEO, believes that Ukraine needs to prepare for a long-term war of attrition
He shared his opinions with Espreso TV.
"Russia has the manpower and ammunition to conduct intense hostilities, as it is now, for another 2-3 years. That is, the enemy has enough personnel motivated by money and ammunition. We are talking about conducting intensive operations as they are today. Currently, the front line is 940 kilometers long, with 10 sections, 3 of which are the most active. I think that Russia will have the capability to put pressure in this format for 2 years," Zgurets said.
According to the military expert, Ukraine needs to find an effective counteraction to Russian troops based on the use of long-range systems.
"The issue is that we must find an effective countermeasure based on the use of long-range systems, increased use of artillery, and changes in the tactical approaches we currently use for counteroffensive actions, which are sometimes vulnerable for our infantry. In other words, we are preparing for a long-term war of attrition. The decisions that are being made at the NATO summit will partially help us in this," emphasized Zgurets.
- Ukrainian Armed Forces serviceman and political analyst Kyrylo Sazonov noted that the Russian troops are trying to reach Kostiantynivka from three sides at any cost.
- Roman Vlasenko, head of the Sieverodonetsk district military administration, said that active hostilities are ongoing in the Luhansk region around Kreminna.
