Russia launches airstrike on humanitarian aid distribution center in Orikhiv, killing 4 people, injuring 13 more
Invading Russian army attacked a school in Orikhiv, Zaporizhzhia region, where residents were receiving humanitarian aid, killing 4 people and injuring 13 others
The Prosecutor General's Office informed that the Russian military attacked Orikhiv on July 9 at about 1:20 p.m.
They specified that 13 people were injured.
Yuriy Malashko, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, reported the Russian attack on Orikhiv.
He noted that the Russians had struck a residential area with a guided aerial bomb, where humanitarian aid was being distributed to local residents at the time.
Three women, aged 43, 45, 47, and a 47-year-old man died on the spot. Another 11 locals were hospitalized with injuries of varying severity.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs clarified that the attack took place on the Orikhiv secondary school, and the bomb destroyed the building to the ground.
"More than a dozen people who were inside and near the building were trapped under the rubble of the destroyed facility. Residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure located near the epicenter of the explosion were also damaged," the statement says.
Rescue operations are currently underway, and sappers are establishing the type of ammunition used
